The Italian Ministry of Interior announced an agreement between Niger, Chad and Italy, in which the three countries agree to cooperate on issues related to border security and migration. The countries agree to enhance cooperation in the fight against terrorism and human trafficking with a view to ensuring border security, and Italy will fund the construction of migrant ‘reception’ centres in Niger and Chad.
